The Galerie der Villa constitutest the art studio of the workshop Elbe 5 in Altona, of the Elbe-Werkstätten GmbH, one of two workshops for handicapped in Hamburg. It serves as the presentation of works from the studio of the Galerie der Villa and others and informs about their exhibitions and publications. Its submission is addressed to people from to employees of the Elbe Werkstätten as well as interested people from outside. The main aim of the studio is to offer an incitement to develope individualistic artistic skills via an extensive range of different working materials and media.Previous knowledge or artistic experiences for this kind of approach are not necessary. Therapeutical work and simple occupation are not the main aim of our work. Instead we try to develop an interest for artistic expressions dependent on personal wishes and suitable technical materials.
